"The matrimonial covenant, by which a man and a woman establish between themselves a partnership of the whole of life, is by its nature ordered toward the good of the spouses and the procreation and education of offispring; this covenant between baptized persons has been raised by Christ the Lord to the dignity of a sacrament."
If you are celebrating a milestone wedding anniversary, for example 25th, 50th etc, our priests would be most happy to offer a special blessing for you at the end of Mass. Please call the parish office to make arrangements if you are interested in receiving this special blessing close to your anniversary date.
Convalidation of an Existing Marriage
Catholics are bound to have their marriage celebrated in the Church, witnessed by an authorized bishop, priest, or deacon and witnessed by at least two other witnesses.
If Catholics enter into marriage outside the church, and did not have permission granted by a bishop to have their marriage take place in another forum, that marriage is considered invalid in the eyes of the Church.
The Church is keen to assist couples who want to enter into a valid marriage, and does so by supporting them through preparations for a Convalidation of their marriage.
If you wish to have your marriage convalidated, please call the Parish Office and we will be happy to get the process started with you.
