Ministries of Administration
Adults with a background in finance/business are invited to join this team to help steer the financial direction of the parish. Quarterly meetings of 1 1/2 hours are very productive. Our responsibilities include preparing the annual budget, reviewing internal financial statements, approving major expenditures, and safeguarding parish resources. New members would be most welcome.
This ministry involves being open and welcoming to new members of our parish. Ministers will reach out to newly registered parishioners, explain about the history and ministries of St. Anthony Parish and encourage contact and involvement in parish life. The Welcoming Committee will also organize regular hospitality functions after the weekend masses specifically to welcome new parishioners.
The St. Anthony Catholic School Board exists in an advisory capacity to the Pastor and Principal. The board is made up of School and Parish members who contribute a broad range of expertise. The board assists in developing the strategic plan for our school and oversees the Marketing, Fundraising, and Finance Committees.
Clerical Assistance/Office Support
With a small parish staff we rely on help from people who enjoy being in an office environment and are comfortable interacting with the public either on the phone, or in person. Members of this ministry are involved in a range of administrative activites, such as hospitality at the front desk, data entry, directing phone calls, participation in mailing preparation, periodic bulletin 'stuffing', preparing items for the weekend masses, assisting other ministry members with copying, shredding, and special projects as needed.
Professional or amateur - we need you to take pictures of various parish events, put them on CD or send them to us via e-mail so that we can share them in our parish bulletin and on our parish website.
To maintain a welcoming and aesthetically pleasing campus help is needed from those willing to keep the campus clean, perform landscaping work, and assist with identifying issues and managing repair or impovement of mechanical plant, buildings and grounds. Help is required throughout the year on an ongoing basis, and also on an ad hoc basis as projects arise. Additional assistance is required on Saturday mornings to ensure the upkeep of landscape maintenance, weeding, edging, hedge trimming etc.
Parking Lot/Traffic Control
As our Parish and School grow, it is necessary that we actively manage our parking facilities during the weekends, and for special services. This is important both to preserve the aesthetic of the campus and to ensure the safety and security of our school children and parishioners. Teams will work on a rotating basis welcoming parishioners as they drive on campus, and ensuring their smooth exit. Members direct drivers to the appropriate parking spot, facilitate passage of church traffic through busy parts of the parking lot, and manage cones and signs as appropriate.
